My fiancee collects these Dept 56 Halloween collectible houses and I was inspired to paint them... this is the first full painting I've completed in years! I picked the Dead End Motel because it reminded me of one of my favorite movies, Psycho.
The houses are cute but have a little creepiness to them... I wanted to make them look like a place you'd never want to spend the night.
The colors are all misty autumn shades and would look great on a wall that needs a shot of warmth not just on Halloween, but all year round.
